1 Vào ngày đầu tuần, lúc tảng sáng, họ mang theo các loại hương liệu đã chuẩn bị sẵn và đi đến ngôi mộ. 1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. 2 Họ thấy tảng đá đã được lăn ra khỏi cửa mộ, 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. 3 và bước vào trong nhưng không thấy thi hài của Chúa Giê-xu. 3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 Trong khi họ còn đang bối rối về việc này, bỗng có hai người mặc y phục sáng chói đứng ngay bên cạnh họ. 4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5 Họ vô cùng kinh hãi và cúi mặt xuống đất. 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 Ngài không còn ở đây nữa; Ngài đã sống lại rồi! Hãy nhớ lại những điều Ngài đã phán với các bà khi còn ở Ga-li-lê, 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 rằng: 'Con Người phải bị nộp vào tay những kẻ tội lỗi, bị đóng đinh trên thập tự giá, và sẽ sống lại vào ngày thứ ba'." 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.8 Họ liền nhớ lại lời Ngài, 8 And they remembered his words, 9 rời khỏi ngôi mộ và thuật lại tất cả những điều đó cho mười một sứ đồ cùng những người khác. 9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 Những người phụ nữ ấy gồm có Ma-ri Ma-đơ-len, Giô-an-na, Ma-ri (mẹ của Gia-cơ) và những người khác nữa. Họ thuật lại những chuyện này cho các sứ đồ, 10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. 11 nhưng các sứ đồ lại cho đó là chuyện hoang đường và không tin họ. 11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. Ông cúi xuống nhìn vào, chỉ thấy những tấm vải liệm, rồi trở về nhà, lòng đầy thắc mắc về những gì đã xảy ra. 12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 Trong khi họ đang trò chuyện và bàn luận, chính Chúa Giê-xu đến gần và cùng đi với họ. 15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.17 Ngài hỏi họ: "Các anh đang bàn luận chuyện gì với nhau trong khi đi đường vậy?" Họ đứng lại, vẻ mặt buồn rầu. 17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? 18 Một người tên là Cơ-lê-ô-pa trả lời: "Có phải ông là người duy nhất đến Giê-ru-sa-lem mà không biết những chuyện vừa xảy ra ở đó trong mấy ngày nay không?" 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19 Ngài hỏi: "Chuyện gì vậy?" Họ đáp: "Chuyện về Giê-xu người Na-xa-rét, một vị tiên tri đầy quyền năng trong lời nói và hành động trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời và toàn dân; 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 chuyện các trưởng tế và các nhà lãnh đạo của chúng tôi đã nộp Ngài để bị kết án tử hình và đóng đinh Ngài trên thập tự giá." 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 Chúng tôi đã hy vọng rằng Ngài là Đấng sẽ giải cứu Israel, nhưng nay đã là ngày thứ ba kể từ khi những sự việc này xảy ra. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. Họ đến mộ từ sáng sớm, 22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; 23 nhưng không tìm thấy thi hài Ngài; họ trở về và kể lại việc nhìn thấy các thiên sứ, những vị đã nói rằng Ngài đang sống. 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. 25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Chẳng phải Đấng Christ cần phải chịu những sự ấy rồi mới bước vào vinh quang của Ngài sao?” 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. Thế là Ngài vào ở lại với họ. 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30 Khi Ngài ngồi vào bàn ăn, Ngài cầm lấy bánh, tạ ơn, rồi bẻ ra và trao cho họ. 30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31 Mắt họ mở ra và họ nhận ra Ngài. Ngay lúc đó, Ngài biến mất. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 33 Họ lập tức đứng dậy, trở về Jerusalem, thấy nhóm mười một sứ đồ đang tụ họp cùng những người khác, 33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 và nói: “Chúa thật sự đã sống lại và đã hiện ra với Si-môn.” 34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread. And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 Họ kinh hãi và sợ hãi, tưởng rằng mình đang nhìn thấy một hồn ma. 37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Hãy nhìn xem tay và chân Ta; chính là Ta đây. Hãy chạm vào Ta và xem, vì hồn ma thì không có thịt và xương như các ngươi thấy Ta có đây.” 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.   41 Họ vừa kinh ngạc vừa vui mừng, nhưng vẫn chưa tin hẳn. Ngài hỏi: “Ở đây các con có gì ăn được không?” 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 Họ đưa cho Ngài một miếng cá nướng; 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43 Ngài nhận lấy và ăn ngay trước mặt họ, 43 And he took it, and did eat before them.44 rồi phán: “Đây là những lời Ta đã nói với các con khi còn ở cùng các con: Mọi điều đã chép về Ta trong Luật pháp Môi-se, trong sách các Tiên tri và sách Thi-thiên đều phải được ứng nghiệm.” 44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45 Bấy giờ, Ngài mở trí cho họ hiểu Kinh Thánh, 45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 và phán: “Có chép rằng Đấng Christ phải chịu đau khổ và sống lại từ cõi chết vào ngày thứ ba, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 và sự ăn năn để được tha tội phải được rao giảng nhân danh Ngài cho mọi dân tộc, bắt đầu từ Giê-ru-sa-lem. 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 Các con là những người làm chứng về những điều này. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things. 49 Ta sẽ ban cho các con điều Cha Ta đã hứa. Hãy ở lại trong thành cho đến khi các con được mặc lấy quyền năng từ trên cao.” 49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. 50 Sau đó, Ngài dẫn họ ra phía Bê-tha-ni; tại đó, Ngài giơ tay ban phước cho họ. 50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, axnd he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. 52 Họ thờ lạy Ngài rồi trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem với niềm vui khôn xiết, 52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: 53 và thường xuyên ở trong đền thờ để ca ngợi Đức Chúa Trời. 53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. 35 Dân chúng đứng nhìn. Các nhà lãnh đạo chế nhạo Ngài và nói: “Hắn đã cứu kẻ khác, hãy để hắn tự cứu mình, nếu hắn là Đấng Christ của Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng được chọn.” 35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. 36 Binh lính cũng chế nhạo Ngài, đưa giấm cho Ngài uống, 36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, 37 và nói: “Nếu ngươi là Vua dân Do Thái, hãy tự cứu mình đi!” 37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. 38 Phía trên Ngài có một tấm bảng ghi dòng chữ: “Đây là Vua dân Do Thái.” 38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, This Is The King Of The Jews. Hãy tự cứu mình và cứu cả chúng tôi nữa!” 39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 Nhưng tên kia lên tiếng quở trách hắn: “Ngươi không kính sợ Đức Chúa Trời sao? Ngươi cũng chịu cùng một án phạt như ông ấy mà. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 Chúng ta chịu hình phạt này là đích đáng, vì chúng ta đang nhận lãnh hậu quả xứng đáng với việc mình đã làm; còn người này chẳng hề làm điều gì sai trái cả.” 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 Rồi hắn nói: “Lạy Đức Chúa Jêsus, xin nhớ đến con khi Ngài bước vào vương quốc của Ngài.” 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 Đức Chúa Jêsus đáp: “Quả thật, Ta bảo ngươi, hôm nay ngươi sẽ ở với Ta trong Thiên Đàng.” 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. 44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 46 Đức Chúa Jêsus kêu lớn tiếng: “Lạy Cha, Con xin phó linh hồn Con vào tay Cha.” Nói xong, Ngài trút hơi thở cuối cùng. 46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. 47 Viên đại đội trưởng chứng kiến sự việc liền tôn vinh Đức Chúa Trời và nói: “Quả thật, người này là một người công chính.” 47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. 48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned. 49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things. 50 Có một người tên là Giô-sép, thành viên của hội đồng, là một người tốt lành và công chính, 50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: 51 ông không tán thành quyết định và hành động của họ. 51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. 52 Ông đến gặp Phi-lát và xin nhận thi hài Đức Chúa Jêsus. 52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. 53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. 54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. 55 Những phụ nữ cùng đi với Đức Chúa Jêsus từ Ga-li-lê cũng theo đến; họ quan sát ngôi mộ và thấy cách thi hài Ngài được đặt vào đó. 55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. 56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. 27 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. 28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29 Vì sẽ đến ngày người ta nói rằng: 'Phước cho những người son sẻ, những dạ chưa từng mang thai và những vú chưa từng cho con bú.' 29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30 Khi ấy, họ sẽ nói với núi non rằng: 'Hãy đổ xuống trên chúng tôi,' và với đồi gò rằng: 'Hãy che phủ chúng tôi.' 30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. 31 Vì nếu người ta làm những điều này với cây tươi, thì chuyện gì sẽ xảy ra khi cây đã khô héo?" 31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? 32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.

VMI A Worldwide Vietnamese Mission
Vietnamese mission work is not limited to the borders of Vietnam. Vietnamese communities can be found throughout North America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and many other parts of the world.
VMI began working with overseas Vietnamese in 2009. Since then, the ministry has included Vietnamese language and cultural study, online education, eight trips to Vietnam, Bible teaching, Christian leadership development, translation assistance, and cooperation with churches and mission workers.
The mission field is large, but every person matters. Every Bible lesson taught, every preacher encouraged, every student helped, and every congregation strengthened can contribute to the spread of the gospel.

What is Vietnamese Missions Institute? VMI Encouraging New Congregations

VMI Encouraging New Congregations
Where there is no local church of Christ, Christians should prayerfully work to establish one. A congregation may begin in a home, rented meeting place, school, or other suitable location. The church is not the building; it is the people who have been called into Christ and who assemble to worship and serve Him.
VMI provides ideas, encouragement, teaching materials, and coaching for Christians who want to help begin a faithful local congregation. VMI has organized the Facebook group “We Start churches of Christ Here Now” to encourage and to support missionaries and church leaders in Asia, India, and Africa.
This follows the New Testament example: “Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.” —Acts 14:23, NIV

VMI Bible Translation and Christian Resources
Many Vietnamese people can read a traditional Vietnamese Bible, but others benefit from language that is easier to understand. VMI’s Bible paraphrase project presents Scripture in clear Vietnamese alongside the English KJV text, fully indexed on the Web.
VMI has supported Bible work among minority-language communities, including assistance with the Global Methodist Chru-language Audio Bible Translation Project in Da Lat, Vietnam.
The VMI Church Leadership Library collects useful preaching, Bible, and leadership books for the development of ministry libraries in Vietnam. Churches and individuals may participate by donating sound biblical resources. Harding School of Theology, Pepperdine University, and various churches and individuals have generously donated preaching books and Bible commentaries.

VMI English Teaching as Mission Work
English education creates valuable opportunities to serve Vietnamese students and build lasting relationships. VMI personnel began teaching English online in Vietnam in 2014 and has since worked with thousands of English learners. VMI has taught English to hundreds of Catholic priests & nuns in Vietnam -- the churches of Christ helping denominational workers in Vietnam.
The Ho Chi Minh City English Center for the churches of Christ was established to contact those who are interested in studying English to the TOEFL-level standard using the Bible as a textbook. The courses are made available free through World English Institute. VMI supplies English dictionaries to a denominational English Learning Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
English teaching is a form of service that can open doors for friendship, trust, Bible reading, and spiritual conversation. Sharing English encourages evangelism. VMI has participated in English-teacher training and helped develop English-learning programs in Vietnam.

What is Vietnamese Missions Institute? VMI Preparing Christian Leaders

VMI Preparing Christian Leaders
Healthy congregations need faithful and properly prepared leaders. For this reason, VMI encourages the education and development of preachers, elders, Bible teachers, and other servants of the church through the Church Leadership Academy.
Our work has included coaching Vietnam Bible Institute staff for six years between 2017 to 2023, helping Christian workers complete advanced ministry training at Heritage Christian University and Nations University, pursue doctoral work at Harding School of Theology and Freed-Hardeman University, developing leadership curricula, and connecting students with established online Bible and preacher-training programs.
We encourage new preachers. A man who has the desire and ability to preach should have access to sound biblical instruction, experienced mentors, and useful ministry resources.
Paul told Timothy: “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
—2 Timothy 2:2, NIV
This pattern—teaching faithful people who will teach others—is central to the ministry of VMI.

VMI Teaching the Bible
The Word of God stands at the center of everything VMI does. We develop and share Bible lessons in English and Vietnamese, including daily readings that place Vietnamese translations or paraphrases beside the public domain King James Version.
These materials are intended to help readers understand the Scriptures, learn about Jesus Christ, and grow toward obedient faith.
The gospel calls people to hear the Word, believe in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, confess Christ, and be baptized into Him. After becoming Christians, believers must continue learning, serving, worshipping, and sharing the gospel with others.
